One of the issues you would still need to address is that, currently,
FarCry stores uploaded files in a directory somewhere off the web root (as
a default). While this is somewhat obscured by the objectID mechanism,
the files are still technically accessible from the webroot as a URL
(which would bypass FarCry security).
To resolve the "storage" issue you can override the:
application.defaultFilePath
variable in your _serverSpecificVars.cfm in your applications config
directory.
However, be careful because changing this path may impact how other areas
work. You would need to test it all.
Having said that, FarCry does have the "download.cfm" page and the
"download" tag to achieve the <CFCONTENT><CFHEADER> serving of files. So
that part of the task is done for you.
