Robert,

If you downloaded all of the messenges in your NNTP browser, then you can view Chris's thread titled "Multiple Level Dropdown Navigation Example" and posted on January 27, 2004. (I use Mozilla Thunderbird for my NNTP browser - only seems to search subject though, not messages).

Otherwise doing a search for "BrainJar" on the mailarchive.com gave these results http://www.mail-archive.com/cgi-bin/htsearch?method=and&format=short&config=farcry-dev_lists_daemon_com_au&restrict=&exclude=&words=brainjar
Click on the third result to read the start of Chris's thread.

I only went to all this trouble because I'd like to do a rollover drop-down as well and Chris's solution looks worth getting into.

@Chris Kent: Any chance you could write this into a tutorial that can be posted on the FarCry website? Being still fairly new to FarCry myself I can say that I wish I had found documentation earlier explaining how to query the menus. If so, may i suggest making the first part of the tutorial just a simple way to output the dynamic menus (simple, yes. Short, yes. But as a newb I found it difficult at first without a starting place or hand-holding), then making a second section (or a part 2) that explains how to impliment it into a multi-level drop-down menu. Food for thought :)

Best Regards,

Jeff Coughlin

Is there a FarCry Archive that would have that code to integrate the BrainJar menu?

Is there a FarCry Archive period?

Chris, posted some nifty code a while back for integrating the BrainJar Menu. We have used it on a bunch of projects and it works great. And yes the GetDescdnts method is the best friend of any menu.

More recently we have been experimenting with dynamically creating flash
menus. With FC the sky is the limit!!!
