Sorry for coming in late here guys but before I modify the codebase can the problem be fixed just by sorting out the permissionBarnacle.csv install file? For existing users we could add an update script to correct the problem. Dropping and re-creating sequences sounds like a bit of a workaround.
Three updated files in cvs. Please try a new install with the updated files and see if that helps the problems with postgreSQL and oracle.
