Ive just installed FarCry but I cant use it fully since Verity dosnt work on my server. Im running ColdFusion on Linux. I have tried to configure Verity but the jvm only crashes. Ive been told that there might be someone on this list who can help me.
(im using Debian, not "supported" but I can run the verity programs i lib/_ilnx21/* from bash so it should work... dosnt seem to be any libs missing.)
You don't have to have Verity to run FarCry. Also it would be quite possible to retrofit an alternative search engine like Lucene -- we've considered this but currently looking for a commercial sponsor.
If you want to persist with Verity though... you might review the following technote that talks about getting Verity giong on Linux:
ColdFusion MX 6.1: Verity support for Linux http://www.macromedia.com/support/coldfusion/ts/documents/hotfix_verity_linux.htm
The hotfix makes specific reference to:
* Red Hat 7.2, 7.3, 8, 9
* Red Hat AS 2.1, 3.0
* Red Hat ES 2.1, 3.0
* Suse 7.2, 7.3, 8.0So your milage may vary.
