Hi,

I raised this some time ago and said that I would get back with a proposal start a discussion off.

Here are some of the things that I am considering adding to this menu.

Quick Edit: by creating a new edit plp that goes straight to editing the dmHTML body
Add a Child/Sibling: to add the navigation node and dmHTML automatically based on the current page
Move Navigation Node
Add dynamic content: dmNews, dmEvent, ... and custom data types created for the site
Remove the Show Design option: for selected user groups
Options based on the users policy group settings:

These are just some of the things that I am looking at for a current project - to allow simple maintenance without having to go to the full admin section.

I am sure others will have there own ideas/requirements for new menu items, so to ensure that this menu does not become bloated with every conceivable option I think that one solution would be to allow developers to override the core Farcry float menu.

Since I first raised this a few weeks ago, Brendan has posted details of site specific MyFarcry by placing using yourAppName/customadmin/home.cfm to override the standard Farcry page.

Can we have a similar solution for a site specific Float Menu. I have done this by using creating a yourAppName/customadmin/floatmenu.cfm and modifying farcry_core/tags/navajo/floatMenu.cfm to check for yourAppName/customadmin/floatmenu.cfm.

Another question might be - are there any other Farcry_Core functions that would benefit this type flexibility of site specific overrides?

Chris.
