Hi Mike,

The apply button was removed because it seemed many users would forgot
to actually click the apply button on this step. If you step forward or
backwards from that step though the categories will 
be saved.  Jumping to complete *should* save them as well so it looks
as though youve identified a bug.  I'll sort it out and commit to p220
branch.

On the subject of categories - there is a new feature which hasn't
really been mentioned that some of you should find useful and that is
category aliases. The concept is that same as that of nav aliases.  When
you are managing categories, users with developer privaleges will be
able to assign an alias to any given node.   To refer to this alias in
your code, you use #application.catid.categoryalias#.

Just  a quick note.  I noticed that the apply categories button is now
gone
from the categories step in the PLP.  However, categories only seem to
get
applied when you click "finish".  if you should complete they do not
apply.
Was this intentional?  Should I have poke to submit a fix?, or Should
the
manual just be updated?  :-)
