Well you can always ask... but FarCry installations require settings that typically force ISPs to break their standard installation.


For example, FarCry utilises a shared code library. It is designed so that all FarCry apps on the installation server share the same code libraries. You cannot have multiple installations of farcry_core (well not without difficulty) on a single box.

[note this is the core libraries not individual farcry applications; you can have any number of these]

This effectively means for shared hosters that only *one* client can have FarCry installed, or they have to specifically manage the farcry installation (upgrading it and the like) when needed for all clients utilising the code base.

Generally ISPs don't like the added overhead. Some ISPs actually offer direct FarCry hosting -- Crystaltech as far as i'm aware do not at this time.

I'd ask Crystal, see what they say. If you are not compelled to work with them there are several shared farcry hosting providers on this list. Of course if you have your own server there's little or no trouble.
