Dear Geoff, The database population method is good! I am just converting another application from the restore method to the creation method. The reason is that it makes it very easy for the newbie. He does not need to know how to do a database restore. His sysop can just give him an empty database and let him get on with it. This is important in political organisations (i.e. all of them) where you don't want Sysops paying too close attention to what you are doing.
You might want to flag up the indexes thing that you refer to in another post at install time - just so people know. If you just want to help build up the existing Aura templates contact me off list and I can talk to you about commit rights to the CVS repository. With regard to data -- this is done as part of the installer. Potentially we could look at supplying some prebuilt database files that folks could restore rather than using the FarCry API to create new objects the hardway. -- geoff http://www.daemon.com.au/ Gavin Cooney wrote: > I was thinking about creating another farcry aura with some navigation > and stuff so as to give newbies a head-start. > > In my farcry install i can see all folders www, webskin, tags etc, and > i assume these are just copied into a new install? > > But where does the data come from?
