Can anyone share their experience of using server log file analysis software with a Farcry site?
For example, what software do you use and how do you get around the problem of multiple addresses for one page?
I haven't used WebTrends with Farcry yet (I plan to use them with a site I'm currently developing since the client already owns WebTrends). However, I have been coding sites for years using url strings (so the site always looks like its just coming from the same index.cfm). To get around the problem I made sure to have dynamic page <title>s (which farcry does). In WebTrends there is a checkbox to refer to the page <title>s. I checked the box and most of the results worked perfectly (I think there were a couple results that were confused and showed index.cfm as 100% of all the pages, but all the other reports were fine).
If anyone has any other suggestions I am open to them as well (I'm not married to WebTrends. There are just so many good log analyzers).
Natalie: I'd try downloading a 30-day trial of WebTrends and run it against some log files for your Farcry site first (there are so many products that offer Trials as well. I've used DeepMetrix v6.2 as well (not for Farcry), but haven't tried v7.x yet).

Jeff C.
