I'll say right up front that I've not done much due diligence in trying to
find the answer to this question myself. It's late and after I send this
message I am going to sleep in the hope that the answer fairy will leave me
a gift in my inbox in the morning.

I just completed my first install of Farcry (Jeff Coughlin's vids were a
great primer for that). I did everything in the install instructions, and
everything went just as it did in Jeff's video. I got a happy series of
"done, done, done" on the entire install script. The admin seems to work, I
can login and move around in it.

The only problem is that the site I specified as my test site didn't get
created. No files on the server, no complaints from the installer. It's
just not there. I've gone back and double checked my paths and they look
like they are all there. It's possible I missed a step in the install, but
I don't think I did.

The only deviation I can think of from the install instructions is that I
installed the test site into a subdirectory rather than the root of a
domain. I guess that could have tripped up the installer, but I would have
expected an error message during install if that were the case. In other
words my site went into http://localhost/farcry_test and the admin went into
http://localhost/farcry_test/farcry

Is it a requirement that it be installed only to domain roots? Anything
else I should look for?

Platform: Win2k, IIS5, CFMX 6.1, SQL Server, Firefox

Thanks!
