Morning All,
Yesterday the "Developers' Exchange" section of the
http://farcry.daemon.com.au website was launched (See:
http://farcry.daemon.com.au/go/downloads/exchange). The Exchange is hoped to
an active part of the FarCry CMS web site and become an excellent resource
for customisations. I would also like to see it help those new to FarCry be
able to cut down there learning/development time.
At the moment, the Exchange contains a few extensions but I would hope there
are many other extensions soon to be submitted! (Thanks to Jeff Coughlin,
Gavin Cooney and Tim Lucas for the current extensions).
The Developers' Exchange is structured as:
Custom Admin
Included Objects
Packages
-Publishing Rules
-Custom Types
System Templates
-Cron Templates
-Reporting Templates
-Export Templates
Webskin
-Navigation
-Miscellaneous
General
However, sections will only be sent live when there is content below them.
[If would be nice to receive some webskin/navigation-related extensions as
this is an area that often comes up.]
If you have extensions you would like to submit please include the following
when preparing a submission:
* Developer's name (and contact details)
* Purpose of the extension (body text - in HTML - and a teaser - max 255
characters)
* Category the extension falls into
* Installation instructions
* Version number, and
* A screen shot (if applicable)
For more details on how to submit your extensions please see:
http://farcry.daemon.com.au/index.cfm?objectId=49942F6F-EA69-0EC7-F80B4AB087
CCBC27.
At the moment, the Exchange to set up using standard FarCry HTML objects but
there are plans afoot for a more interactive system, allowing developers to
manage their own extensions and automate aspects of installation and setup.
Cheers
David Whiterod
