Unfortunately SoEditor is only usable with Internet Explorer. You are liklely using a browser other than IE. If so, either use IE or download HTMLArea (v3.0 RC1) and use that (there are some bugs with it in Farcry v2.2 though).
Farcry v2.3 (currently in development and downloadable through CVS) has most of the bugs worked out (except I still can't choose "complete" from the PLP dropdown when done editing in HTMLArea. It is likely I need to just get the latest CVS to get the fix though :).
