[farcry-dev] Location of function libraries in custom admin

My custom types are using a few functions that I have placed into a 
function library file.  Since it is being used by packages, I dropped it 
into the root of the <projectName>/packages directory.

I am now considering whether I should have placed it into 
<projectName>/custom directory.

In the /farcry/admin, there is an includes directory for such utility 
functions.  But that is core code.

Is there a best practice regarding where to place supporting files?
