My suggestion:
When submitting your update for dmNavigation, Farcry can check if the name exists. If it does don't let the user use the name. It would also be nice if you could tell them where it is already being used (so they can make adjustments if where needed if necessary).


If there is some reason that duplicate names are being allowed (I'm guessing for grouping purposes) then can we at least "warn" the user that it is already in use on node(s) "x, y and z" and ask them if they'd like to continue?

Two suggestions for checking (just a suggestion):

 a) When editing dmNavigation Farcry grabs a list of all the
    alias names (they currently existing in the application
    scope) and places them in a list or array (or something).
    Then you can use javascript to check that list "onSubmit".
 b) When clicking submit Farcry does a check on the action
    page to check if the alias exists.  If yes do something
    (javascript most likely).
