If you have a very large tree you might want to make sure the timeout on the server is set to a reasonably high value so as not to cut out mid way through a copy paste.

Hello,
We have to perform a major redesign of one of our FarCry sites, including many structure changes: some branches of the tree will move, other branches will expand quite a lot, other will be deleted. Most of the content will remain the same, though, including news, events, etc.
In order to keep the current site running in the meantime (a few weeks), my idea was to create an empty "temp" FC site, and then import in the newly created MSSql database all the tables from the current production site... and then edit the temp site, modify it until all it's content has been approved - and replace one with the other on the server.
Is my logic flawed? Is there a better procedure to "clone" a FC tree and its content?
Thanks for your help!
Nicolas.
