That is sometimes not possible.  If you use the drag-and-drop method
of placing links into your pages (which most novices rely on) then you
will get objectID's embedded in pages.

I think Geoff has said before that Farcry is not a "deployment"
platform.  It is a "live" platform.  That is, you don't do your page
development on one machine and the deploy the pages to the live site. 
You develop your pages LIVE and then move them from DRAFT to APPROVE.

However, in some instances, you need to know objectID's programmatically.

We have created a psuedo "alias" concept by having a section in our
custom config called ALIAS and we add in meaningful names there and
edit the values to match the appropriate objectID's that differ
between platforms.
