Hi Geoff,
I was thinking about using WDDX as well, but you're right.. the reporting would be difficult. Perhaps the table that stores the WDDX data could at least have the time it was entered so you could do ordering and date selections. Most of my users would probably rather see it all in an Excel spreadsheet anyway :)
Another option that may not be too bad is to take the form description (I was thinking it would just be a large array of structs in WDDX form) and somehow use the fourq API to generate a table to store the data into.
OK, well I may start up this project soon then. I have a lot of old "formmail.pl" pages out there that people would like in FarCry.
Thanks! --Kyle

Before I do this myself, has anyone created a simple form generator in FarCry? I was thinking it would let you add basic form elements like text boxes, radio buttons, textareas, etc using the admin interface. The form could then email the results to someone and/or save the information to a database.
It's certainly something that a lot of people ask for. I think it would be a great addition to the product.
How are you thinking of capturing data? I always thought that wrapping the FORM scope up in WDDX and storing it in the DB might be a good plan as it doesn't require any specific requirements in the table -- but it doesn't lend itself well to reporting and the like.
