Hey gang-

We're working on a Farcry intranet site right now that is going to
have some custom functionality tied in to it for managing
user-selectable external site links and RSS feeds.

Neither of these will be managed as Farcry objects (meaning: we're not
going to create a CFC and deploy it in the COAPI to handle
adds/updates/deletes). We code most of our stuff using Mach-ii and
are trying to find the "right" way to integrate this particular set of
functionality into the user experience.

Ideally, we could "containerize" the display of the links and rss
feeds, but the container functionality in Farcry is very much geared
towards farcry-managed content (as it should be). Modifying it to
support our non-farcry custom type would involve mucking with the
core, which we have declared "verboten."

Instead, for the time being, we've created an includedObj that isn't
any particular methodology, but resembles a hack of old school CF,
Mach-ii, and the necessary guts for Farcry. It's ugly and we want to
clean it up before we go any further.

So...

if any of you have applications of any size that you integrated into
Farcry that go beyond a simple includedObj, how did you do it?

Any and all suggestions are welcome!

Thanks-
Steve
