Alrighty, here is the situation. I purchased a server (all to myself, yay
HostNexus!) that's running CFMX 7 Ent and Fedora Core 2. As I've said in the
past, I'm more used to dealing with CFMX and IIS. I can usually hold my own,
but I'm not sure what to do with this linux config. The whole point to getting
my own server is that I can host dozens of accounts on the same box without
having to worry about other resellers mucking up the server. I've resinged
myself that the farcry_core is limited to one copy on the server. It resides
in /home/httpd/vhosts/farcry. All the other apache/plesk controlled items
reside in /home/httpd/vhosts/<domain name>. I successfully have two farcry
sites running, but when I installed farcry to a domain (specifying / as the
install directory), it places the newly created site in
/home/httpd/vhosts/farcry/<whatever my farcry install is called>. Not really a
big deal, I just change httpd.include to move the docroot to point towards this
folder. The problem I'm having is that I cannot access this folder when FTPing
into the site. I've trying creating a sym link to the folder, but it always
blows back a "not athorized" type error. I tried copying the entire site
contents to the normal plesk controlled site structure, and changing
httpd.include to point the docroot to the new location. Cool, it works.
Sorta. I tried making a new display page, but the <application> path is still
pointing to /home/httpd/vhosts/farcry/<my farcry name>.

So, can anyone tell me how to either :

a) create a sym link that will work over FTP

b) tell me how to install so the default / path can point towards a different
directory.

c) Modify the <application> path to where ever I may choose.
