Let me get this straight. You say that if you look at stObj.body the html code is there, but when rendering the page in your browser the code is not? Have you tried eliminating the browser (try a different browser)?

I only ask because I remember spending endless hours with the same bug (or pretty similar). It turned out to be a Firefox bug [PC version] (which they still haven't fixed several releases later). some HTML attributes were removed from the source if I highlighted any of the page, then right-clicked and chose "View Selection Source". I beat the heck out of Farcry assuming something was stripping out my code when in fact it was a bug in the browser. If I chose to just "View Source" the source was fine. In your case I'd suggest just trying a different browser to make sure.
