It is possible to create your own authentication by creating your own logon page (farcry checks to see if it exists before using its own). Yo then call your own authentication process which can just be an extention/override of the farcry component. You can then access your database (or active directory server) to validate. If authenticated, you will then need to set farcry properties for dmSec and dmProfile (in SESSION)

Hi people! Long time lurker, etc etc etc.

I have a fairly large FarCry project coming up, still in the
requirements/specs stage.

There will be a standalone SQL Server database for membership data,
which will be used in a number of different areas of the organisation,
not only on the web (member-only areas, forums etc) but also for
desktop apps. Is it possible for FarCry to talk to the member database
directly, or will I have to import the records into FarCry's database
(and keep them synced externally)?

I'm sure I will have a ton of questions as this gets going - I haven't
played with FarCry for ages and I'm waiting for the glamour beta
before I start looking at it again :)

Thanks,
K.
