What are the dependencies between farcry and CFMX 7? Does the latest
(stable) version of farcry require CFMX 7, or vice versa, or both? I'm
guessing that our 2.0(ish) version of farcry won't run under CFMX 7 (have
heard there were some changes made to farcry for compatibility reasons....
yes?)
What's the "official" word? What would be the "correct" way to upgrade?
The official word is upgrade to a minimum of 2.3.2 for CF7 support.
Primary issues revolve around a change in the underlying memory
management of Query of Query variables within components.
From CVS you can get the head of the p230 branch for development, and
run the milestone_2-3-2 for production.
You should only need to run the relevant updaters to get your schema up
to speed with the latest 2.3 code base.
Hope that helps,

PS. Daemon is happy to provide commercial support for upgrades on a time
and materials basis and of course there are the various webTeam and
annual support offerings.
