Yes - I agree that it MUST be an option.
 
Our support procedures currently rely on being able to provide passwords to authorised support staff so that they can assist users (the user base is HEAVILY non-technical).

This is a feature enhancement that's already been raised. Folks should
feel free to comment and vote at:
  http://bugs.farcrycms.org:8080/browse/FC-50

Code submissions are welcome.  Its important that it remains an option,
mainly because certain features like forgotten password and admin tasks
will need to also be changed to accommodate password hashing.
