Subject: Fwd: Issue in configure stage of fastbit latest version
To: [email protected]
Cc: Matthew Wolf <[email protected]>

Hi All,

Myself Hrishikesh A Pathak is a student pursuing Masters in Computer Science
at Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) Atlanta USA

I am using fastbit for my project and was comfortable with the previous
version
I recently downloaded the latest version of fastbit from site
https://codeforge.lbl.gov/projects/fastbit/
However i am facing a blocking issue in configuration and compilation

*PROBLEM DESCRIPTION*

*Stage faced in : *
while running sudo ./configure

*Error Message : *(Highlighted in yellow)
checking whether pthreads work with -pthread... yes
checking if more special flags are required for pthreads... no
checking if compiler supports __sync_add_and_fetch for 32-bit integers... no
checking if compiler supports __sync_add_and_fetch for 64-bit integers... no
*checking if the default FlexLexer.h defines yywrap... configure: error: no,
must have FlexLexer.h to continue*

*Steps performed till error msg step :
*1) Downloaded the src to /home/username/fastbit-ibis1.1.3*
*2)* *Went to the fastbit-ibis1.1.3 folder
3) Ran sudo ./configure
4) Got above error

*Efforts taken towards resolution:
*1) Tried to define a PWD environment variable and set it to
/home/username/fastbit-ibis1.1.3*
*2) Tried to search the internet and available documentation . But got only
one reference regarding flexlexer.h error which was during compilation stage
and not configure stage namely *"The header file FlexLexer.h in /usr/include
directory could be too old to work with the files selectLexer.cc and
whereLexer.cc". *However in my case i am yet to reach this stage*

*Does body know resolution of above issue if at all it is one

Thanks in Advance
Hrishikesh Pathak
