I don't have experience with SLES, here is someone talking about
building GCC on openSUSE

 Hopefully, it is of some use to you.

unique_ptr is a template from the Standard Template Library, you
should be able to find it with GCC distribution.  Rather than
extracting unique_ptr code, it might be better to get GCC 4.8 working.
