Dear all,
I am a newbie to Fastbit and I am not familiar with database manipulation, so
please don't mind if my questions are non-sense.
I am trying to understand Fastbit to accelerate part of the query process.
In order do to this, I need to somehow port the whole bitmap indexes of a
database to another platform and perform bitwise operations there (hopefully by
accelerating these bitwise operations, I can accelerate the query process).
I have the following questions:

1. Is there any available function in Fastbit that can write the bitmap
indexes of a data partition into a text file? I guess that after performing an
ardea command on a database.cvs file, then performing an ibis command with
option -b then the bitmap indexes are created in file.idx. Is this correct? And
if yes, how to process this further or read the file into a variable to further
manipulate the database?

2. While a query is performed, except from bitwise operations, is there
any operations needed to optimize the bitmap indexes of the database? In other
words, is the database changed during a query is performed?

I am looking forward to your response.
Thank you very much!

Best Regards,
Anh
