Hello

was somebody successfull in booting XP from linux by kexec and eg grub4dos.

My intension is to make quite the same as kboot does, that is to use a small
linux as a Bootmanager. I used a linux kernel 2.6.19.5 and kexec-tools-1.101,
no patches applied. I booted with vga=normal, use kexec to start grub4dos (
grub.exe) which worked fine. Grub4dos could start XP, but XP crashes after
loading the bootdrivers, before changeing the videomode. As I never saw the
XP splash, I assume, that the problem could be in the videodriver. I
couldn't get a crashdump up to now, so I can't tell at the moment in which
driver the crash really happens.

Was somebody successfull in booting XP from a linux with kexec or knows what
the problem is (pci-Bus, video-mode, ...)?

Any hints are welcome.

Regards
Thomas Irlet
