Hello,
Does anyone have anything to report about compiling Faust directly into
traditional C code instead of C++? Have you ever tried it?
I notice on
http://faust.grame.fr/index.php/documentation/references/12-documentation/reference/48-faust-syntax-reference-art
it says
"Reference to external C functions, variables and constants can be introduced
using the foreign function mechanism.”
However, all of the architecture files seem to be .cpp and not .c. I guess what
I’m wondering is if, not personally having programmed much on older C
compilers, some incompatibilities are to be expected, such as relating to how
transcendental functions are defined. (I recall having a problem a long time
ago with a weird compiler cl6x.exe not handling calculation of powers in the
same way as C++ normally does, but at that time I got around it be rewriting
the expression using several * symbols in the C/C++-generated source.)
Happy New Year!
