Hey Nycholas

very good questions. I am myself looking forward to see a response from someone
who really is a specialist on this. I thought I would just address some of your
questions.
In his online-faust-course Romain Michon at some point says 2 things, that I
too miss a lot and that to my knowledge keep a lot of programmers still
sceptical or at least careful with faust.
Faust does not know arrays nor FFT. BUT faust2 is supposed to have FFT. I do
not know if faust 2 is already usable or still being developed. I guess it is
still being developed.
The Problem is with the lack of arrays, that it keeps you away form really
doing f.ex. pure physical modelling. If you look into the physical modelling
examples in the faust folder you will see, that a ton of modes etc. are hard
coded. Not really ideal for that kind of stuff even if there are some
impressive sounding examples….

as for the rest I am hoping as much as you are, that somebody with the
knowledge will take the time to respond.

all the best

Hi,

Now I'm working with Prof. Dr. Adolfo Maia (Mathematical Institute of State
University of Campinas - Brazil) in a Audio Plugin using Faust.

In our conversations, we have some questions:

Question 1:
Is possible to convert a Matlab DSP code to a Faust code?

Question 2:
How to declare and multiply two bi-dimensional arrays in Faust?

Question 3:
In Terminal, How can I pass a parameter to faust2octave to control the X axis
(time axis) in plot window?

Question 4:
How can I see the result of a mathematical operation in Faust?

Question 5:
Is there another way to see the faust generated waveform without octave
aplication?

Questions 6:
Can faust do a FFT of a signal?

Question 7:
When Faust repo (git) is modified, these modifications are included in
FaustLive repo (MacPorts) too?

Question 8:
In Terminal, all applications "faust2xxx" doesn't have a --help.
How can I know the right arguments of each application?

Question 9: faust2mathdoc Error: (And I have MacTex installed)
LaTeX Error: File `listings.sty' not found.
LaTeX Error: File `supertabular.sty' not found.
LaTeX Error: File `breqn.sty' not found.

What I have to do to faust2mathdocs compile the final PDF without errors?

Question 10:
Is there any way to implement Wavelets using Faust?

I know that is a lot of questions...sorry about that.

Thank you very much!
