yeah - i know. i go back with computers far enough to know that  OS X is
based off of BSD (4.2 - you're right) via NeXTSTEP, and the original piano
patch was programmed for the NeXT anyway. i'm just a little command-line
averse, and wasn't sure if there was a different macOS method as opposed to
a pure Unix/Linux oriented one. i'll see what i can do.
