IFC-22 Call for Papers ================== The International Faust Conference aims at gathering researchers, developers, musicians, computer artists using the Faust programming language. The Third International Faust Conference (IFC-22) will propose sessions of paper presentations, as well as thematic round tables, demonstrations, and tutorials. Participants are encouraged to present current works, projects, etc., and to discuss future directions for Faust and its community.
IFC-22 is organized by GRAME-CNCM, INRIA, and Université Jean Monnet in conjunction with SMC 2022. It will take place on June 7-8, 2022 at the Centre des Savoirs pour l’Innovation (CSI) of the Université Jean Monnet of Saint-Etienne (France). Interested parties can also attend the Sound and Music Computing Conference (SMC-22) 2022: https://smc22.grame.fr. Attending SMC as a free listener (i.e., without presenting a paper) is free of charge. Artistic events will take place during SMC 2022. Artists are encouraged to submit their work using the artistic call of SMC (see the "Artistic Track" section on https://smc22.grame.fr/calls.html). Guidelines for Submissions ------------------------------------ Deadline for submitting papers: March 13th, 2022 Deadline for submitting reviews: April 3th, 2022 Notification of acceptance: April 10th, 2022 Paper Submissions -------------------------- We welcome submissions from academics, professionals, independent programmers, artists, etc. We solicit original papers centered around the Faust programming language in the following categories: - Original research - Technology tutorial - Demonstration - Artistic project report (e.g., installation, composition, etc.) Papers should be written in English, up to 14 pages in length, non-anonymous, and formatted according to the template provided on the conference website: https://smc22.grame.fr/misc/ifc22Template.zip. All submissions are subject to peer review. Acceptance may be conditional upon changes being made to the paper as directed by reviewers. Accepted papers will be published online. They will be presented by their author(s) at IFC-22. Paper submissions should be made through the SMC-22 EasyChair portal: https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=smc2022 by selecting the "IFC-22 Scientific Track." Workshop, Demo, or Tutorial Submissions -------------------------------------------------------- IFC-22 welcomes workshops, demos, and tutorials on various topics related to Faust. Submissions for these categories should take the form of a one-page pdf document (that will not be integrated to the proceedings) containing at least a title, an abstract, the name of presenter(s), equipment requirements, and the preferred duration (that should not exceed two hours). Workshop, demo, and tutorial proposals should be made through the SMC-22 EasyChair portal: https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=smc2022 by selecting the "IFC-22 Workshops, Demos, and Tutorials Track." Round Table Topics -------------------------- A series of round tables on the following themes will take place: - Faust Tools (e.g., Architectures, IDE, Faust Code Generator, On-Line Services, etc.) - DSP in Faust and Faust Libraries (e.g., New Algorithms, New Libraries, Missing Functions, etc.) - Faust Compiler and Semantics - Other Topics / Open Session We solicit topic suggestions from the Faust community for each of these themes through this form: https://forms.gle/diiKHptV75rNYftM8 Registration ---------------- IFC-22 is a completely free event (both for presenters and free auditors).
