Hello Yannis,

*_"Koukia"_* are the only legumes to avoid, yellow split lentils are harmful and so is also the "fava" plate we prepare in Greece which is made out of chickpeas or yellow split lentils.
It is only a matter of name which, I know, can be disturbing!

Best regards

Julia, thanks for the really helpful info on the local names of fava beans. I do want to clarify that although on the internet it says that fava beans are called lobhiyah and rajma in Urdu, Punjabi and Hindi, lobhiyah are actually black eyed beans and rajma are kidney beans. I have no idea what jheam is, so I’m going to presume that they’re actually fava beans.

Sincerely,

Harkirat

Thank you Julia for your very informative post but I have one
observation. In Greece by fava we call the yellow split lentils.
"Koukia" are the broad beans that are also called fava beans.

        Hello,

Be careful of lists you can find in internet, they can do more
        harm than good!

The one and _*ONLY*_ legume to avoid is*fava (or broad) beans
(vicia faba)* and in other languages:

Allemand : Favabohnen, Dicke Bohnen, Saubohnen
Anglais : Fava or Broad Bean
        Arabe : Foolle
        Catalan : Fava
        Chinois: Tzan-Doo

        Espagnol : Haba

        Farsi (Persan) : Ba-ghe-Leh
        Français : Fève
        Grec : Koukia
        Hebreu : Polle
        Hongrois : Lóbab

        Italien : Fava (pl. fave)
        Kurd : Paqla
        Malaisien : Kacang Parang
        Neerlandais : Tuinboon
        Thai (Thailande ): Two-ah pak-ah
        Turc : Bakla

Urdo (Pakistan et Inde) : Lobhiya, Rajma, Jheam

There is _*NO NEED*_ to avoid any other legumes, our kids and
ourselves should be not restricted from the nutriments that
        legumes provide!

The other substance we have to avoid is *quinine* which can be
contained in tonic water for example.

As for _*drugs*__*,*_ you can refer to the very reliable
        french lists:
