Cool, it needs to say, though not necessarily in this order, something like: - Hello! We're FC-UK, please pass this on to any arts/music/etc. societies, radio/TV stations and others who might be interested. - What free culture and FC-UK are all about, including a mention of already-existing local groups (hmmm, are Deptford active? can we include Dundee already? Brighton & Birmingham look comatose to me). - Explain that we'd like either individual societies/stations/etc. to become local free culture groups, or for multiple societies to come together and do free culture stuff . - An indication of the sort of things that this might involve, drawing on: http://www.freeculture.org.uk/GroupGuide/RunningYourGroup - If we can't put all the materials into the pack, then an offer of more materials to come. For example it's unlikely that we'll get iCommons gear until September :-( - An offer of speakers (perhaps mention some names?), training workshops (I can do this, anyone else?), people to just attend meetings and explain/discuss things. - Some web/email/phone (who?) details. - Some snazzy free culture case studies with a UK weighting where possible, to include the projects whose propaganda we include in the pack (so far I have received a great PDF from LOCA Records and some really nice CDs from Fading Ways Records). This could possibly be a standalone A4 sheet, two sides. Phew! All that in a short, snappy, enticing letter 8) Regards, Tom -- The task of critique is not to denounce the ideals, but to show their transformation into ideologies, and to challenge the ideology in the name of the betrayed ideal (Fromm – Beyond The Chains Of Illusion) _______________________________________________ fc-uk-discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.okfn.org/mailman/listinfo/fc-uk-discuss
