Quoting MJ Ray <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>:
From: David Berry <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> [...]
Open Life: The Philosophy of Open Source' is a newly published book
about Open Source ideology and business models. [...]
And there you have a problem. Open Source is a feature of some business
models, not a class of them. If anything, its main ideology is being
reactionarily anti-ideology.
Yes, it is a weasel term designed deliberately for meaninglessness.
This is why
when people hear about "Open Source" and try to apply it to
philosophy/art/politics/whatever they end up tying themselves up in knots
trying to figure out what Open Source actually means. God help them if they
read "The Cathedral And The Bazaar" before anyone can lend them a copy
of "Free
Software, Free Society".
