#2850: How to store the formatted data?

HI
I am new at this component and as far as I see during examples the FCK
Editor creates an HTML output data, what makes me wonder If I want to
store the captured data by the user in a database, should I store the HTML
output?
What kind of field would be needed in order to keep carriage returns, tabs
and all that stuff that HTML involves?
