#4070: Emphasis styles not enabled at the start of text
---------------------+------------------------------------------------------

     Type: Bug | Status: new
Priority: Normal | Milestone: CKEditor 3.x
Component: General | Version:

For Safari, the emphasis styles (e. g. bold, underscore, italic,
strikethrough) are not "sticky". That is, clicking on one of the emphasis
style toolbar icons will not enable that style for subsequent text. In
order to make a text string bold, italic, or underscore, for example, it
is necessary to type the text and then highlight the text with the cursor
and click on the target emphasis style.

 Steps to reproduce: [[BR]]
 1. Mac 10.5.7, Safari 4.0.2 [[BR]]
 2. Go to CK Editor nightly build => check the demos => Create and destroy
editor instances for Ajax applications [[BR]]
 3. Place the cursor in the CK Editor text area [[BR]]
 4. Click one of the emphasis style toolbar icons (e. g. Bold, Italic,
Underscore, Strikethrough, Subscript, or Superscript) [[BR]]
 5. Begin typing some text. [[BR]]

 Expected result: [[BR]]
The text should be bold, italic, etc depending on the style selected

 Actual result: [[BR]]
The text is plain. It is not displayed as bold, italic, etc.
