Hi,
as Tom clarifies, none of the FATxx filesystems support > 2 GB
file size. Only NTFS does (WinNT/2k/XP). When you have Windows,
you have a 64bit llseek even for FATxx filesystems, but this does
not change the filesize limits there.

So in short I recommend NOT to use filesizes of 2-4 GB as their
working is implementation dependend. We should simply have an
official 2 GB filesize limit. I recommend to assume lseek to use
32bit signed values (also because you need the sign for relative
seek mode).
