I'm kind of thinking that there is a bit too much info in them. I know a good few people who have passed EU using only the manuals. I suppose too that it's hard to keep up to date with all the EU cases but maybe if you spend time answering questions the subject will become clearer and you will have a better idea of whether or not you need to get info on cases that aren't contained in the manual.
It's a tough subject, my heart is broken trying to do the procedures chapter!
