Elaine, You don't sign any contract (normally) until you apply for PPC I in September as PPC I is the official beginning of your training contract i.e. you sign the indentures of apprenticeship. If you get the traineeship, I'd say take it (if it's the only offer on the table). You can always keep looking if it doesn't suit you with the added bonus of getting experience which'll give you an advantage over other applicants...
