Hi,
I use the 3.0 client. It already has a specialized RELS-EXT client but
overtyped relationships are saved as they should, at least with
isMemberOfCollection. So it seems that this is a bug that was introduced
in client v. 3.1.
In 3.0, I have another problem, or maybe I should just say annoyance.
When using literals as the rdf object, it is surrounded with an extra
pair of quotes every time I open the editor, and I have to remove them
every time; otherwise, the string is stored literally with the quotes.
Does anyone know if this problem is still around in client 3.1?

Onderwerp: [Fedora-commons-developers] New admin client for 3.x
Hi all
Following recent talks with Thorny Staples and Ross Wayland (among
others) please can I flag up a problem with the admin client in 3.1 in
the hope that the "new" admin client being built can improve on the
situation?
In the 2.x client, building and editing a RELS-EXT datastream was like
any other XML datastream - basically an editor over a blank "sheet of
paper". In 3.1, the RELS-EXT editor has been specialised to make the
construction of relationships easy and relatively foolproof. In
principle this is great - EXCEPT that it prevents you doing other
things. Unless I'm missing something you can't use the editor to insert
anything that isn't a relationship, for instance an oai:itemID as
required by PROAI:
<oai:itemID>oai:hull.ac.uk:hull:999</oai:itemID>
Further, the client seems to enforce a limited set of relationships.
You can over-type the relationship field, but when you attempt to save
the changes, it enforces relationship validation against a fixed set of
"allowed" relationships that just includes:
hasService
hasModel
isDeploymentOf
isContractor
isMemberOf
...not isPartOf, isMemberOfCollection etc.
Please can the "new" editor allow straight text editing on RELS-EXT,
even if it has a nifty tool for building relationships, so that it can
easily be used in conjunction with things other than just collection
membership and content model oriented relationships..
Best
Richard
