Hello!

I saw the first posting of this message and assumed someone more versed
in such things might answer... Since no one did, I'll tell you what I
think! :-)

Far as I can tell, Fedora Commons seems pretty happy on most distros.
Given that, I'd opt for the one you're most familiar with because that
will be the distro you're mostly likely to maintain, keep secure and
obtain dependencies in a way you're used to - which saves *lots* of
time! If that is Ubuntu, great! :-)

Subject: [Fedora-commons-developers] Which Linux Distribution is best
forFedora Commons?

Hi,

We are at present developing a digital archive based on Fedora Commons.
We are running our development Fedora Repository on a Ubuntu server.
Shortly, we will be deploying our system onto a larger SAN (with a
minimum 50TB capacity). I was wondering what the most suitable linux
distribution for this might be. Personally, I would rather use Ubuntu,
but I would be open to opting for some other approach (e.g. CentOS, RHEL
or Solaris) if there were tangible benefits. I would be eager to hear
any comments on this matter.

Thanks,

Stephen.
