I was verifying https://jira.duraspace.org/browse/FCREPO-984 and it occurred to me that I don't know what we should be telling people about the FEDORA_HOME environment variable anymore.
To my knowledge, the 3.5-SNAPSHOT behavior is that, during install, the user is prompted for a Fedora home directory, and that value is populated as the "fedora.home" servlet context parameter (as well as being written to a couple files as necessary, like the JDBC url for Derby, if used). And at that point, the value of FEDORA_HOME doesn't matter to the running Fedora server. So is FEDORA_HOME only really important to the server and client scripts (stuff in server/bin and client/bin)? And how is the value of org.fcrepo.common.Constants.FEDORA_HOME populated when the Fedora webapp starts? - Chris ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Magic Quadrant for Content-Aware Data Loss Prevention Research study explores the data loss prevention market.
