I think I found a problem with the documentation of the rest interface here:

I could be doing something wrong but it appears that instead of:
/objects/{pid}/datastreams/{dsid}/versions ? [format]
the syntax is actually:
/objects/{pid}/datastreams/{dsid}/history ? [format]
