I'm going to look at a few of the the bugfixes slated for 3.6.1 this week, starting with FCREPO-1107 (https://jira.duraspace.org/browse/FCREPO-1107).
It's a fairly minor change to support the language attribute on changes to the datastream content, but it is slightly more involved to support the addition of the language attribute to the REST/SOAP APIs, and still more involved to have the attribute propagated via the journaling API.
