if it helps -- to me it looks like one of these nice error messages that  
are close to useless ...
according to the link above you might as well add

-Djavax.net.ssl.trustStore=/your/path/to/fedora/client/truststore  
-Djavax.net.ssl.trustStorePassword=tomcat

to your servers vm args. solved a lot of ssl related issues for me.
