not much information about your setup, but ...
four possible causes spring to mind:
- you are trying to start the client via an ssh connection w/o -X. use ssh  
-X instead
- you are trying to start from a console (ttyX | x<7) and not from an X  
based environment. start X and try again.
- you switched user with su or sudo and the user has no rights to access  
X. use kdesu or the gnome equivalen (usually the "run as ..." entry/dialog  
allows to enable a different user and enables access to X as well)
- your setup is broken and DISPLAY is not set. use DISPLAY=:0  
./fedora-client.sh
