Hello:
The example datastreams given in the documentation seem to be for live
data - objects that can be retrieved via a URL etc. Are there any
conventions for datastreams stored offline (CD, DVD, tape etc.)? I'm
assuming that you could use a piece of well-formed xml as the content of
the datastream as you cannot use the target data directly, something
like

<offline>
<media>CD</media>
<number>465</number>
<filename>mybigpicture.tif</filename>
</offline>

with possible sophistications. This could be then be processed by more
traditional methods involving walking, fetching and other analog
activities.
As with most of my solutions, this seems a little ramshackle; is there a
more formal method for doing this?
Thanks
Richard
