Ah, my bad, I failed to camelcase trustStore  when I set the JAVA_OPTS. It
now works! So your notes are fine - and without specifically importing the
initial sefl signed certificate - it did seem to me from reading the keytool
documentation that this shouldn't be required with a self cert so long as
the truststore is set to be the same as the keystore. It's the actual error
message that makes it so confusing - it refers to the cert being tampered
with when what it really appears to mean is that it cant find it! Thanks
