Chris - Thanks for the follow up. I can verify that both are running. I can connect to http://localhost:8080 and get the tomcat page.
When I try to connect to http://localhost:8080/fedora/admin the page gets redirected to https://localhost:8443/fedora/admin/ with the following Firefox page appearing. Failed to Connect Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at localhost:8443. Though the site seems valid, the browser was unable to establish a connection. When I look at MySQL Administrator or issue the SHOW PROCESSLIST; command I can see that fedoraAdmin is connected to the fedora32 database with the fedoraAdmin user. Under the command column, it is in a sleep state and the time column increments when I refresh. Is this normal behavior? -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Chris Wilper Sent: Thursday, September 17, 2009 11:18 AM To: Bekkala, Ronald Cc: [email protected]; [email protected] Subject: Re: [Fedora-commons-users] Fedora_commons LINUX Hi Ronald, "Connection refused" means neither the Fedora webapp, nor Tomcat itself, was running when you tried that command. Try starting tomcat (tomcat/bin/startup.sh). Then look at the latest output of $FEDORA_HOME/server/logs/fedora.log -- if something went wrong during startup (like a failure to authenticate to the database), there should be hints to that effect in that file (ERRORs or WARNINGs). After verifying startup was successful, then trying fedora-ingest-demos, if you still get "Connection refused", check that server log file and see if there are any errors or warnings in it before it shut down. It's pretty unlikely that it would shut down on it's own, but if it did, that's where I'd look first for hints as to why. The next place I'd look is in tomcat/logs/catalina.out. - Chris On Thu, Sep 17, 2009 at 9:43 AM, Bekkala, Ronald <[email protected]> wrote: > Peri > > As far as the installation goes, it went smoothly.
