Dear Community, Happy New Year! Now that Fedora 3.3 has been released, we'd like to get your input on a significant change we are considering for future releases.
During the 3.3 release cycle, Sun's J2SE 5 reached its End of Service Life. This is the last stage of the End-Of-Life for Java 5, and it means that Sun has no further plans for public updates to this legacy version of the J2SE. The most recent versions of Fedora (including 3.3) support Java 5 and Java 6. However, it is becoming increasingly difficult to find and develop for Java 5 on the major operating systems. Therefore, the Fedora development team is strongly considering requiring the use of Java 6 for future versions of Fedora, and we'd like your feedback so we can make the best-informed decision. If you use or develop software for Fedora, please take a moment to fill out this short survey. http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/DLRSFF5 Thanks, Chris Wilper Technical Lead & Developer DuraSpace ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Verizon Developer Community Take advantage of Verizon's best-in-class app development support A streamlined, 14 day to market process makes app distribution fast and easy Join now and get one step closer to millions of Verizon customers http://p.sf.net/sfu/verizon-dev2dev _______________________________________________ Fedora-commons-users mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/fedora-commons-users
